For the weekend of 16 and 17 April we have organized the I Testing of Biodiversity "Marsh of Almenara" , a naturalist meeting open to all people without previous knowledge , want to know more about this Mediterranean wetland of international importance and how to enter the most common methods of sampling and identification of biodiversity (birds, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, insects, mollusks, plants, etc.). This is an excellent opportunity to enter the exciting world of observation of the fauna and flora of the hands of experts in the different groups. Enjoying
and contributing to better understanding the inventory as much as possible of the diversity of living creatures in the Marsh of Almenara, the ultimate goal of this event is to draw attention of society in general and particular administration on the need to conserve and properly manage this valuable wetland located Mediterranean coast at the boundary between the provinces of Castellón and Valencia.
Organized from Virtual Biodiversity and Tundra Publishing supported by AE-Agro, attendance and participation is free. The program of activities is as follows:
PROGRAM:
Saturday 16 April 9:00
Reception at the Playa de la Llosa.
9:30 pm 1 st tour: coastal dunes in regenaración.
14:00 h. Eating at the Bar / Rte Yan-Fort. Price: about 15 euros. Menu: Paella, with salad, dessert and drink.
16:00 h. 2 nd tour: "Els Estanys d'Almenara.
21:00 pm Dinner, ham sandwiches with tomatoes and water (price: 2 or 3E).
After dinner, light trap to attract insects, and night hike around, to hear and see wildlife such as amphibians and birds. Carry a flashlight.
Sunday April 17 8:00 am
Bird banding. A good opportunity to learn about the most elusive birds marsh.
9:00 am 3 rd field trip: salt marsh area near the banding area.
14:00 h. Food, for free.
Material preferred
Camera, sunscreen, water, hat, binoculars, field notebook.
GETTING :
Xilxes
Go, take the exit towards Playa Xilxes (southeast of the province of Castellón). Just before reaching the urbanization, turn right, direction "tennis club" and "Camping Mediterranean". Follow the road to the beach of La Llosa.
