Yesterday I received the new Field Guide to Advanced Birding by Kenn Kaufman , of \u200b\u200bcourse, with a dedication by the author (thanks Kenn!). Extensive chapters delve into the principles and techniques for identifying birds, and the dedicated to groups of birds with a cosmopolitan distribution, especially the most problematic, make this guide, but then focus on the North American species, a work that should not be missing in the library of every bird watcher or ornithologist field you want to go further in their knowledge, regardless of the region of the globe where champion.
And again, as in previous guides in the series, it shows that being left behind the era of bird guide illustrated with drawings, photographs sufficient when to choose the positions and lighting facilities, as is happening today in countries where most photographic archive is accumulating, are infinitely more real the pictures that the drawings, without the risk of failure in the proportions, posture and ease of distribution and hue of the color (which exists even in drawing more specific guidelines famous, and, not infrequently, in guides to complete) that so often difficult to compare with what is actually observed in the field.
